CRM Management: How to choose the right CRM for your business

 In CRM, ERP, Netsuite, Oracle

CRM Management: Every business with a sales and marketing team, requires a CRM. But with so many options out there, how do you know which system will be right for you? There are several factors you should always consider when making the decision on which CRM will work best for your business. Read on for our top tips on selecting the best CRM for your company. An industry-leading CRM, such a NetSuite Oracle, should have the following options available:

  • Sales forecasting
  • Lead Management
  • Email marketing
  • Opportunity Management
  • Customer management
  • Time tracking
  • Email Marketing
  • Real-Time Dashboards
  • Incentive Compensation
  • Reporting and Analytics

CRM cloud-based or on-site?

Both these options have pros and cons. However, at some point in the future, your business may require both a cloud-based and on-site CRM system. Make sure whatever CRM you choose is capable of considerable flexibility. A cloud-based system, like the one available through NetSuite Oracle, is entirely cloud-based. The advantages include not having to provide expensive on-site databases that would require an I T management department for maintenance purposes. Simply subscribe to NetSuite, complete the implementation process, and log in to start using your CRM. Later on however, as your business scales, you may wish to have some sort of database storage on site. Therefore, making sure the platform that you’ve chosen to work with, is flexible, is the key issue.

Decide on your requirements before you search the market for a product

Many companies make the mistake of looking at CRM options before logging their own requirements. Just because a system offers numerous features, doesn’t mean it’s the best fit for your needs. Decide on your priorities and ask several key questions before going CRM shopping. For example, what is your budget? Which areas are you keen to improve on through a CRM? What software will be compatible with your current systems? Who will be using the CRM? And finally, what are the three elements you want most from your CRM?

Once you have a comprehensive wish-list, make a selection of CRM systems that fit the bill, and shortlist from there.

Consider  CRM Management compatibility

Selecting a CRM that is compatible with your current set-up, will save you a lot of headaches and money initially. This is especially true of you are happy with your current system. Select a CRM that can be updated without disrupting the compatibility of your current software. Otherwise, you won’t be able to make use of the updates on offer, and after a while, your CRM will become outdated.

CRM user experience

A CRM will be with you for a long time, and almost every person in the company will need to become familiar with it at some point. Therefore, considering the user experience should be a big part of your decision-making. Make sure it has intuitive features that lead the user through the experience, otherwise you’ll be spending much more time on training sessions than you originally bargained for. What’s the interface like? Is it comprehensible? Is the system slow? Are the steps you need to take, labelled clearly?

Has this system been used effectively in your industry?

This is an essential consideration. Just because a CRM has all the bells and whistles you could imagine, doesn’t make it the best system for your business. Ask sales reps for examples of companies that are already using their CRM. Also, ask for a demonstration of the CRM at work. Take your time to consider the pros and cons before deciding.
